Students as Co-Teachers

 

Brain Coppola won the Outstanding Doctoral and Research Universities Professor of the Year in 2009 as part of the Carnegie/CASE U.S. Professors of the Year Awards.  He is the Arthur F. Thurnau Professor of Chemistry, at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.  In this audio podcast interview he talks about teaching like a researcher – by working as part of a collaborative team.

He encourages undergraduates to explore the teaching and learning of chemistry—from writing the text of the course and constructing the lab syllabus to participating in peer instruction and teaching groups.
